First things to know
Sierra Nevada is unique. It is the highest resort in Spain and the southernmost in Europe. This means lots of sun, spring-quality snow, and an atmosphere you won't find in the Alps. Life is lived differently here: the day starts early and ends late on the terraces.

Insider Tips
Always start early
The snow is most compact from 9:00 to 11:00. From 12:00 onwards, the southern sun transforms the snow quickly.
Avoid queues
A lesser-known alternative is to access the slopes via the Jara and Virgen de las Nieves chairlifts when operational.
Layer up
Here you can go from -5ºC to +10ºC in a few hours. Don't dress like you're going to the North Pole, use layers you can take off.
